KEVIN has been keen on sport of sailing. at the age of 17 he broke his back and became a full time wheelchair user. this did not put himof sailing and he won gold at the wold disabled sailing championships in Barcelona. in 1996 he won gold in the paralympic sailing in Atlanta USA, and was awarded the prestigious BT yachtsman of the year and the Ipswich sports personality of the year awards. he is still fully in to sport. in 2003, Kevin was awarded a lifetime membership of the millenium awards fellowship. The university of east anglia bestowed the award of doctor of civil law' honaris causa in recognition of the committee work he had undertaken to raise the profile of sport in the county.
